Eugene Anangwe is a highly accomplished media professional with close to 20 years of experience in the Eastern and Central African media landscape. Currently serving as the Founder and CEO of East Africa Media Group LTD, Eugene oversees a vibrant portfolio of services, including digital media broadcast, audio-visual production, events management, and training. Under his leadership, subsidiaries like EAMGTV and EAMG Radio are becoming trailblazers in East Africa’s media industry.

At the Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA), he served as a prominent figure at Rwanda TV, where his vision, storytelling and talk show presenting prowess played a pivotal role in advancing the station’s reputation for high-quality, engaging content. During his tenure, Eugene contributed to reshaping Rwanda’s media narrative and impacting change through his solutions-focused approach to topical issues.

Beyond RBA, Eugene left an indelible mark on the broader media industry. As Founding CEO of TV47 Kenya, he guided the station’s rise as a dynamic force in Kenya’s competitive broadcast sector. At Look UP TV where he was the founding CEO, he introduced innovative programming that resonated with diverse audiences. Additionally, his tenure at CNBC Africa as Country Manager, Rwanda, established him as a respected voice in business and financial journalism.

Eugene is also the Patron and Founder of The Anangwe Mentorship Program, empowering the next generation of leaders through knowledge sharing, coaching and guidance on soft skills development. As a skilled moderator, he has facilitated high-level roundtables, including discussions on universal electrification in Africa, regional energy markets, and intellectual property legislation in Rwanda and interviewed prominent African leaders including H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, H.E; Ellen Johnson Sirleaf – Former President of Liberia and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, South African billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Patrice Motsepe, Monica Geingos, the former First Lady of Namibia just to mention but a few. His work in advocacy extends to moderating panels for organizations like the UNDP, Rwanda Governance Board, the Africa Development Bank Group, Africa CEO Forum among others, highlighting community resilience and accountable governance.

Beyond his executive and journalistic roles, Eugene is a creative storyteller and educator, creating multimedia stories that capture Rwanda and the rest of Africa’s dynamic socio-economic landscape. He has also contributed to sustainability through projects like “Sustainable Agri-Food Systems Heroes,” a TV series inspiring youth engagement in agriculture and food security.

As a trainer and mentor, Eugene leads public speaking masterclasses, strategic communication workshops, and capacity-building initiatives, equipping individuals and organizations with the tools to communicate effectively and create lasting impact.
